Proposed Budget Public Hearing

A Public Hearing on the Proposed Budget for the Town of Bolton for Fiscal Year beginning July 1, 2024, will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at 7:15 P.M. at the Bolton Town Hall, 222 Bolton Center Road, Bolton, CT.

Copies of the Proposed Budget will be available for public inspection beginning April 26, 2024, at the Town Clerk’s office at Bolton Town Hall during normal business hours.

Free pH Soil Testing and Answers to Gardening Questions

Thursday, Sept. 22. Drop-in event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Tolland County Master Gardeners and Bolton residents Jean Laughman and Leslie Alexander, and Pam Cooper, from the UConn Home and Garden Center, will conduct free soil pH testing and answer your gardening questions. The Master Gardeners will provide basic information and recommendations for gradual correction of soil pH based upon your soil location such as a lawn, vegetable garden, or flower garden. This is a drop-in event. Bring a cup of soil in a baggie from each location to be tested. Samples of plant problems are also welcome, e.g. a leaf or stem of an affected plant in a baggie or container. Gardening questions will be addressed throughout the evening.

Please drop off or email specific questions relating to soil, plants, gardens, or trees to the library by Wednesday, Sept. 21, then come to the library on Thursday night to consider the answers with the gardeners.

Soil pH testing will be completed while you wait, time permitting. Information on nutrient testing through UConn and overall soil and plant care and maintenance will also be available. Registration is not required.
