Proposed Budget Public Hearing

A Public Hearing on the Proposed Budget for the Town of Bolton for Fiscal Year beginning July 1, 2024, will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at 7:15 P.M. at the Bolton Town Hall, 222 Bolton Center Road, Bolton, CT.

Copies of the Proposed Budget will be available for public inspection beginning April 26, 2024, at the Town Clerk’s office at Bolton Town Hall during normal business hours.

NOTICE OF BOLTON VOTER REAPPORTIONMENT                                               
Beginning in August 2022, changes are coming for Bolton Voters.  That’s because the state legislature has readjusted many state House and state Senate districts all across Connecticut under a program called reapportionment.  This means changes to where you will vote and whom you will be voting for as State Representative.

Reapportionment occurs every 10 years following the completion of the federal census.  The adjustments are made in an effort to keep all state House and Senate districts approximately the same size in terms of population (for House districts that is approximately 24,000 citizens: for Senate districts it is approximately 100,000 citizens).

Currently, all of Bolton is in the 55th Assembly District. However, beginning in August, Bolton will have two House districts:

  • The 55th (Bolton voting District 2)
  • The 8th (Bolton voting District 1)

The 8th District will now include the North portion of Bolton. All of these voters, belong to District 1 and will vote at Bolton Center School, 108 Notch Road. Note the lighter portion (top) of the map for reference. 

The 55th District will now include the South portion of Bolton.  All of these voters, belong to District 2 and will vote at St. Maurice Parish Center, 32 Hebron Road. Note the darker portion (bottom) of the map for reference.

Clarification of boundary lines on split streets are as follows:

Bolton Center Road: 
Even numbered addresses from 10 – 280 belong to District 1.
Odd numbered addresses from 19-159 belong to District 1.
Odd numbered addresses from 169-285 belong to District 2.

Camp Meeting Road:       
Even numbered addresses belong to District 1.
Odd numbered addresses belong to District 2.

Clark Road:                            
Odd numbered addresses belong to District 1.  
Even numbered addresses belong to District 2.

Watrous Road:          
Even numbered addresses belong to District 1.
Odd numbered addresses belong to District 2.

Please note that every Bolton registered voter will be mailed a letter informing them of their District and their voting location.
As noted above, we had no choice in these District changes.  The actions were taken by the State Legislature and its Reapportionment Commission.  We have done our best to assign convenient, State and Federal compliant polling locations within each district.
