Join the Bolton Conservation Commission (BCC) on Sunday, January 14, 2024, for a WINTER TRAILS DAY HIKE to VALLEY FALLS.

Meet at the Freja Park kiosk at the Bolton Park and Ride Lot at 10:00 AM. Hike through Freja Park to the Hop River State Park Trail to Valley Falls via the HOP RIVER TRAIL and back.

From the Hop River Trail see the trails the BCC helped create and manage such as the green-blazed Kempf Trail through Freja Park to the Railroad Brook Restoration Project, Mohegan Trail in Bolton Notch State Park, future Box Mt Forest Trail now part of the Old Growth Forest Network (OGFN), Tulip Tree Trail, and newly inducted OGFN Echo Ridge/Webster Preserve trailhead. On the return trip follow the Blue-blazed Shenipsit Trail over the Notch Pond overlook where observers may see the unexplained circles on the ice.

Participants should dress for the weather and snow conditions on the trail over the sometimes moderately rugged or slippery landscape. Total hike distance is six miles. Trail conditions will determine trail route and length. No dogs, please.

Meet at the Bolton Commuter Lot across from Georgina's Restaurant off Morancey Rd, Bolton, CT 06043.
