Assistant Building Official

The Town of Bolton is now hiring an Assistant Building Official (A.B.O.) for a shared services position in the towns of Bolton, Ashford, Andover, and Willington.  This position is under the direction of the Chief Building Official and will carry out a comprehensive building advisory, inspection, and enforcement program. The A.B.O will administer and enforce the State Building Code, Town building ordinances, and regulations related to health, safety, fire codes, and environmental statutes. This is a 37 hour per week position and comes with benefits.

Starting pay will be 90% of the entry level pay rate of $36.85, which will be $33.16. At the completion of the probationary period, the employee shall be compensated at 95% of the job rate.  At the employees first anniversary date he/she shall be paid at the full (100%) rate of pay.

Fire Marshal

The Town of Bolton is accepting applications for the position of Fire Marshal. This is a part-time position which will oversee the Deputy Fire Marshal and help in planning, organizing and administering comprehensive fire inspection, fire investigation and prevention program in accordance with Connecticut General Statutes; enforces the Connecticut State Fire Code; promotes fire safety through public education; reviews plans for fire safety code compliance; and provides technical consultation.

Library Assistant I -- INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY!

  • The Town of Bolton is currently hiring for a Library Assistant I at the Bentley Memorial Library. 

This position performs duties requiring substantive knowledge of an ILS (Integrated Library System preferably Bibliomation’s Evergreen).  Performs library operations in the functional area of circulation; performs responsible and varied administrative work in issuing patron library cards and receiving and circulating library material.  Uses the latest information technology to assist library patrons in their search for information and materials.

Starting pay will be 90% of the entry level pay rate of $25.60, which will be $23.04. At the completion of the probationary period, the employee shall be compensated at 95% of the job rate.  At the employees first anniversary date he/she shall be paid at the full (100%) rate of pay.
